Just because he has received more attention and endorsements does not mean he's a "different" player. Wade has always been confident and that's not to say he's cocky, like others in the league. He is Miami's franchise player and he knows that. The issue here is that he wants to leave his options open, as anyone in his spot would, because he knows the opportunities available in 2010. By doing so, he puts the pressure on Miami to put quality players around him to contend for a title. If Wade were no longer humble he would have taken the extension, mainly because the Heat are the ONLY team that can offer him a 6-year, $120 million contract (the maximum). If it were about money, we would not be talking about this right now. Wade wants to win like any competitor and Miami has a prime opportunity to make that happen. Wade will likely stay in Miami come 2010. Wade is still humble and as effective as he was in 2006. I put wade and jordan and the same category where their brand is bigger then the organization and team. I want the old humble wade back.
